2023 Special Olympics builds connection with athletes, community

The Special Olympics is an event where nearly 180 athletes came to compete in different races and other events. The event ran with the help of over 300 Lafayette volunteers and an executive committee led by seniors Andrew Buckley and Jordyn Lochmann. Doing things from coordinating races to running stands in the Victory Village, the volunteers worked and planned for months to make this event possible for all the athletes. Despite weather worries, the volunteers and athletes were able to have a full day of competition.
