Weekly Sports Update Sept. 2- Sept. 8

Boys Cross Country: Over the weekend the Lancers competed in the Fort Zumwalt North Twilight Invitational on Sept. 7 at Pheasant Run Golf Course. They placed 2nd out of 23 teams. Nikolas’ Malek placed 5th, Aiden Murphy 7th, Alex McMillen 20th, Eric Reed 22nd. This Saturday Sept. 14, the Lancers will compete at the Forest Park Festival at 8 a.m.

Boys Soccer: On Sept. 3, the boys soccer team played their first game of the year against Liberty, winning 5-0. On Sept 4, they lost to Rockwood Summit 4-1, but redeemed themselves with a 3-0 win against Francis Howell North, on Sept 5. The Lancers play rival Marquette at Lafayette on Sept. 10 at 6p.m. They also play an away game against Kirkwood on Sept. 12.

Boys Swimming: The boys swim team faced off against Parkway Central on Sept. 3, and lost the meet 103-82. The Lancers look to redeem themselves as they compete against Parkway South this upcoming week on Sept. 11. 

Field Hockey: The Lady Lancers played their first home game against Webster Groves and won 7-0. Also, on Friday Sept. 6 they played Parkway West and won again 2-1. They beat Marquette 3-1 in the semi finals, but lost to Rockwood Summit 2-1 in the championship game finishing 2nd in the tournament. This week they will play on Sept. 11 at Parkway West again at 4:15 p.m. They will also play on Sept. 12 at Nerinx Hall at 4:30p.m.

Football: In their first away game at Hazelwood East, the Lancers won against the Spartans 33-24. During the game Caden Phipps and Marsean Fisher each received two touchdowns, Mitchel Hoffman and Jalin Reese each with a safety made this a winning night for the Lancers. This week the Lancers will play Ritenor at home at 7 p.m. 

Girls Cross Country: On Sept. 7, the Lady Lancers competed in the Fort Zumwalt North Twilight Invitational. They finished 5th, with Grace Tyson finishing 2nd in her 5k debut and Hope Ware finished 22nd. This weekend they will compete at the Forest Park Festival at 8 a.m on Saturday Sept. 14. 

Girls Golf: The Lady Lancers played Parkway Central on Sept. 3 with a final score of 169-204. The girls golf team then played Kirkwood and brought home a win for the Lancers with a score of 184-204. This week, the Lancers play Lindbergh on Sept. 9, Eureka on Sept. 10 and participate in the Summit Invitational on Sept. 12.

Girls Tennis: This week the varsity girls tennis team beat Parkway West 9-0 on Sept. 5. But, on Sept. 6, they lost to John Burroughs 1-8, moving to a 3-1 record this season. This week, the Lady Lancers face off against Kirkwood on Sept. 9, Ladue on Sept. 11,Marquette on Sept. 12 and MICDS on Sept. 13.

Girls Volleyball: The Lady Lancers played Villa Duchesne, on Sept. 3,  and won 3 sets. They also played St. Joseph’s Academy on Sept. 4, winning yet another game. The Lancers ended the week playing Northwest Cedar Hill, winning once again, and starting off the season with an outstanding 4-0 record. This week, the Lancers play Parkway South on Sept. 10 at home, and they play an away game at Borgia on the 11th.

Softball: On Sept. 4, the Lady Lancers had their first home game and beat Hazelwood West 6-0. They also played away at Parkway South on Sept. 6, which they lost 8-7. This week they play on Sept. 9 at Eureka at 4:40 p.m. , Sept. 10 at Kirkwood also at 4:30 p.m., Sept. 11 at home against Francis Howell at 4:30 p.m. and Sept. 12 at home against Seckman at 4:30 p.m.
