After losing two straight the Lafayette boys basketball team picked up a huge victory over a solid Parkway South team with a buzzer-beating shot from Adam Flinn.
Flinn put on a show for the fans recording 14 points, four rebounds and seven assists. The Lancers were leading through the first three quarters before the Patriots caught fire and surged their way back into the game. Along with Flinn’s buzzer-beater, the Lancers shot well as a team with a team shooting percentage of 51.
After an interview with Flinn about the season thus far he explained, “It hasn’t started off like we wanted it to, but we’ve definitely picked it up a lot more and it’s coming to what we thought it was going to be.”
Also, this past season Flinn has developed into a team leader and says that from last season to this season his “role has definitely increased and he has to take on more responsibilities.”
The team is sitting at a 5-8 record with hopes of going on a win streak with Northwest, Oakville and Mehlville coming up on the schedule.
