Last weekend, the Lafayette wrestlers went to Winnetonka, MO, just outside the Kansas City area, for their most recent showing.

They had two first place winners and several other podium finishes in this highly successful tournament. At 182 pounds, Brendan McKenna was able to capture the championship, winning the final round with a major decision of 12-4. At 152 pounds, Tim Bogar won the final round in a 7-0 decision (full match linked here) in a dominating performance.

In addition to the championship performances, several others placed high as well in their weight class. Lafayette had four other second place finishers, two third place finishes and a fourth place finish. Austin Stofer, who came second place in the 160 pound weight class, lead the tournament for most takedowns.

The Lancers continued their top tier performance with victories over both Lindbergh and Mehlville. Their 59-9 victory over Mehlville and 77-6 kept the team undefeated at 15-0. Stofer broke the Lafayette take down record this past meet. In addition, Chase Behrndt had two pins in his first meet returning from injury.

The Lancers next meet is at Francis Howell on Jan. 28, at 5 p.m.
