Seniors primed to lead girls lacrosse to another successful season
March 24, 2016
With six seniors on the team, out of 22 players, the Lady Lancers lacrosse team is ready to have another solid season.
Last year, the team finished with a record of 12-7 and went 5-1 in Conference play. Senior Maria Johnson led the team in points scored with 102 and came in second in assists on the team with 12.
“Our goal on the field every year is to win State,” Head Coach Carrie Guenzler-Heaney said. “Our goal off the field is to bond as a team full of players of integrity.”
If the team has created a good team chemistry expect to see Lafayette go deeper into the postseason and become a force to be reckoned with.
Guenzler-Heaney mentions Johnson, freshman Katherine Goddin, Anna Reynolds and Lauren Younquist as players to watch for this season.
The team’s first game is on March 29 starting at 6:00 p.m. against O’Fallon at home.
