On the left side of the Commons is a carpeted and well furnished area. It was originally designed as a incentive for Renaissance students.

However, there is now no limit on who can sit in the area, Renaissance member or not. For what purpose did this privilege of being able to sit in the area get changed to a free for all to whoever wants to sit there?

The decision to have the former Renaissance area open to all was never really made clear, leaving some students confused on if they were even allowed to eat their lunch in the designated and well furnished area.

“There’s no real mystery to it,” Principal John Shaughnessy said.

Shaughnessy explained the decision to have the area roped off for only Renaissance members was redacted one year after the area was installed. Now, the area is  open to who ever wants to sit.
