Hockey staying positive despite early season woes

Jackson Bartholomew, Sports Reporter

The Lancer’s hockey season is not off to such a hot start. The squad has only posted two victories through their first eight games to post a 2-4-2 record. Their lone wins came against Francis Howell North, with a score of 6-2, and Whitfield, with a score of 3-2. The team also had a big tie against Marquette with a score of 2-2.

When asked on his thoughts on the year so far senior forward and captain Jared Preete said “It’s been a struggle so far, but we just tied one of the best teams in Mid States so we are getting there. Hopefully we can have an upturn in wins as the season progresses.”

The team has some momentum going as they have one win and two ties in their last three games. This is a definite upturn in what so far has been an abysmal season. Hopefully they can keep the momentum rolling through the rest of the season. See them live in action next on Dec. 5 at Hardee’s Ice Plex against Westminster. Game time is 9:20 p.m.
