Girls volleyball gears up for District tournament
October 17, 2016
After a shaky start to the season, the varsity girls volleyball team has gone 18-2 in their past 20 games and has started to peak before the District tournament coming up.
Lafayette is seeded first and will get a bye thanks to their record and either face Washington (19-10-3) or Rockwood Summit (18-13). On the other side of the bracket, Eureka (31-2-2) is seeded second and has a bye and will either face Northwest (20-9-10) or Parkway South (1-25-1).
“This time of the year you want to be playing your best and it’s a good thing to face opponents that will push you to be your best,” Head Coach Zach Young said.
The team has been preparing for this tournament the whole season and is ready to bring home the hardware. Their next game will be against either Washington or Rockwood Summit on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at Eureka High School.
