The 17th Annual Taste of West County (TOWC) fundraiser will take place at Lafayette High School on Monday, Feb. 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

TOWC is a chance for local restaurants to showcase menu items in a buffet-style setting.  Participants who purchase a ticket are given a tray and are able to sample food items throughout the night.

Tickets are $45 for a family four-pack, $12 for a s

ingle ticket and $5 for a ticket for a child five and under. The tickets will be available at lunches from February 13-14 and 18-21, and at home basketball games on February 14.

The junior class Advisory Board is in charge of the event. Jack Rogan, Junior Advisory President, explained how he and other Advisory members will be helping at the event.

“We’ll be moving tables, setting up restaurants’ places and helping hand out food. We’ll just make sure everything is running smoothly,” Rogan said.

Assistant Principal Kirti Mehrotra has helped oversee the event.

“It started with the idea of a fundraiser for the junior class…it has high interest,” Mehrotra said.

This fundraiser goes towards the Senior Celebration for the Class of 2015, just as the Freshman Carnival and sophomore-run Trivia Night the previous two years have.
