With only three games left in the regular season, the varsity boys soccer team hopes to win out and obtain a solid seeding in Districts.

But there’s a chance that may not happen. Kennedy, Pattonville, and Oakville each currently have a record of 8-8-1, 4-15 and 12-8-1, respectively. While the first two records don’t sound too intimidating, if the Lancers want to end the season on a high note, they will have to keep in mind that soccer matches are a luck of the draw at times. No game is a guaranteed win.

Veering away now from the future, the Lancers are sitting pretty with a 10-5-1 record.  Talking about stats, the leading goalscorer is senior Connor Schene (4) , as he has been since the start of the season, with junior Colton Boone leading the team in assists (4).

Senior goalkeeper Brendan Carnahan believes that the team has the tools to end the season strong, they just need to capitalize, saying “There have been games that we should have won and did, as well as ones where we ended up losing despite being favored. Anything’s possible, so we need to just push through.”

The Lancers next game against the Kennedy Celts is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:15 p.m. Playing in enemy territory, the only thing the Lancers can do now is bring home a win.
