Boys and Girls Cross Country set to compete at Rim Rock Farm Classic
September 26, 2014
The Lancers have a big weekend in store for them. Both boys and girls cross country will be attending the Rim Rock Farm Classic track meet this weekend. The meet is being hosted by Lawrence High School on the University of Kansas campus.
The boys team has been outstanding in its previous several meets, placing 1st at the Randy Seagrist Invitational as well as winning the Hancock Invitational.
Several of the top schools in the country will be attending this meet and the boys team isn’t entirely sure how they will place this weekend.
Junior Dylan Quisenberry said “We’re mostly just trying to gain experience at this meet. We’ll see what happens.”
Meanwhile, after placing 3rd at State last year, the girls cross country team is looking to make a statement at this meet.
They have already been doing a fine job, placing 1st in the Lafayette meet and the Parkway Central Invitational, as well as placing 2nd at the Forest Park Festival
The team can’t attribute its success to just a few runners.
Athletics Director Steve Berry said “The top runners have fluctuated in each meet. No one person is carrying the team.”
It will be an exciting meet come Saturday. Look for both of the Lancer squads to make a statement.
