On Friday evening, April 5, the Winter Guard will be hosting a Zumba class in the back gym from 7-9 p.m.
Tickets to the class cost $10 ahead of time and $15 at the door. All proceeds will go to funding the guard’s trip to Springfield for their final competiton of the season.
The evening will start with a performance of the guard’s winning show titled “Starry Starry Night.” Afterwards, a professional Zumba instructor will lead a class to get people up and moving.
Tickets are being sold at lunch on April 4-5, but students can also buy tickets by contacting any member of the Winter Guard.
Sophomore, Hannah Farrell, said, “I’m really looking forward to the competition, to prove to everyone at our school and everyone [at the competition] that what we do is memorable, and hopefully we can be the best we can be.”
Recently, the winter guard was moved up a class in their division due to their high scores. Their final competition will take place on Saturday April 6 at Willard High School in Springfield, MO.
Member Julia Fox, sophomore, is excited to compete this weekend.
“I’m looking forward to competing against some of the best guards in the state,” Fox said.
