Lancer wrestling’s excellent season continues to improve as this week’s State Class Four dual-team rankings saw Lafayette soar into the top eight for the first time all season.
The Lancers earned the honor by posting an undefeated head-to-head match record and excelling in tournaments. The team placed second in the 12-team Patriot Classic on Nov. 30, falling to Jackson High School by only 18.5 points.
The Lancers have been led on the mat by senior Nick Olejnik. In his final of four seasons on varsity, Olejnik has gone 6-0 in head to head matches and ranks third in his 138 lbs. Class Four weight class.
The Lancers will wrestle in the Capital City Tournament in Jefferson City on Jan. 11-12.
