To kick off their season, the Lady Lancer volleyball team will face St. Joseph’s Academy in a highly anticipated battle. Last year, the Lancers were able to clinch a victory over the Angels that directed them to a State title.

Returning varsity players, seniors Lily Johnson, Maggie Scott and Jackie Scott hope to re-establish strong chemistry of last year’s squad to create another perfect season.

“Even though there are many new faces on varsity, we are already able to play as one, cohesive unit when we step on the court. We are a new team beginning a new season, and we plan to work hard for our own accomplishments and milestones,” Missouri State commit Johnson said.

St. Joe’s will be led by seniors Grace Carter, Holly Hildebrand and juniors Bethany Besancenez, Morgan Gresham, looking to take down the dominant Lancers.

Competition begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Lafayette gym on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
