Soccer’s eight-game winning streak ends after loss to Eureka
After going on an eight game win streak with seven of those being shutouts, the boys soccer team lost to Eureka 0-5 on Oct. 16.
Last year, the Lancers defeated the Wildcats in Districts 2-1 with a late goal to secure the win. This year it is a different story. Many key players from last year graduated which left a lot of players to step up. The Wildcats started strong with a goal within the first ten minutes of the game. The Lancers held their ground until late into the first half when Eureka scored again to go 0-2 against the Lancers.
After the start of the second half, the boys lost their confidence as Eureka scored three quick goals. This was becoming much like the game the boys played earlier in the season against Marquette. The boys relied solely on their defense as they had little scoring opportunities.
It was a tough one for the Lancers but they quickly regrouped and went on to win their next match against Parkway South 4-1.
With only five games left in the regular season, the Lancers hope to finish strong as they enter into post season. Their next match is tonight at Fort Zumwalt East (8-11) against the Lions at 6:30 p.m.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
