Leading up to Districts, the Lady Lancers have been on a roll. They have won their past 14 games, giving them confidence as they approach the end of the season.
Leading scorer Jordynn Martin has the team high average of 15.8 points per game and 379 points this season.
Since defeating top reanked Incarnate Word, Martin said, “We have found our groove and feel confident going into Friday’s game.”
Junior Hannah Schneider is ranked 10th in St. Louis for free throws and senior Kayla Hall is ranked eigth in steals with a 4.8 average per game.
Their overall record this year is 22-4, and they were undefeated in Conference, with a 8-0 record. In the area. Lafayatte is ranked second for overall points scored with 1,391 points.
Seeded number one, the Lady Lancers got a bye the first round of Districts and played Eureka in the semifinals. Lafayette came out on top, defeating the Wildcats 53-42. As they prepare for the championship on Feb. 24, the Lancers have been practicing longer this week.
Martin says, “We have a team bond that is very unique; I love all the girls and we are ready to take home the gold.”
The Lady Lancers will be playing away against top ranked Parkway South at 5:30 p.m.
