The Rockwood Board of Education Awards for outstanding achievements took place Thursday, Nov. 17 at Crestview Middle School.
Students from across the distrist were given awards for outstanding performances in Fine Arts, Athletics and Academics.
The Lafayette varsity tennis, field hockey, boys swimming and volleyball teams were honored for their performances at State.
In addition, National Merit Commended Scholars and Semifinalists from all four high schools were honored. Lafayette received the most of this honor of any school, with about 20 students in attendance.
Teachers were also presented awards for programs they initiated at their schools. Principal John Shaughnessy and Associate Principal Nisha Patel accepted an award for the New Student Breakfast at LHS.
