Head Coach Todd Gabel of Lafayette’s swimming and diving teams was recently named Coach of the Year by the Missouri Coaches Association (MOCA).
“Todd has been a great coach, always motivating us to do our best and ‘get out there and swim'”, junior Nicole Hoog said.
Gabel is one of 20 coaches to receive the honor, which will be acknowledged at the Fourth Annual MOCA Coach of the Year awards banquet in June.
“I am very honored to receive the award,” Gabel said. “I give a lot of credit to the girls last year on how hard they worked and were very prepared last year for the state meet. I am very proud of the girls on how they worked and stepped up last year in 2010. Every year the boys and girls swim very well and by getting this award it is a testament to the athletes for their commitment and work ethic.”
