With the school year coming to a close, students and teachers alike are cleaning up and getting ready for summer break. One task all students need to address is cleaning-out lockers.
Starting Monday, May 17, seniors can begin to clean-out their lockers after their 5th Hour exam.
Underclassmen will clean out lockers according to the following schedule:
Freshmen: 6th Hour on Monday, May 17
Sophomores: 3rd Hour on Thursday, May 20
Juniors: 5th Hour on Thursday, May 20
LHS splits up the grades to level out the amount of trash being thrown away at one time.
“We are scheduled to have the dumpsters emptied at night and once during the day to keep the trash at a manageable amount,” Principal John Shaughnessy said.
“Plus, we try to maintain some order during this process so as to not disrupt the whole school,” Shaughnessy added.
Community Service will have bins sets out for students with lightly used school supplies such as pens, pencils, folders, binders and more. All supplies will go to local organization who gives these types of supplies to students in need.
