The selection for Lafayette High School’s 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year is underway.
Students and staff are asked to honor a teacher they feel has done an outstanding job in their profession by nominating them for Teacher of the Year.
The person selected for Lafayette’s Teacher of the Year represents our school in the Rockwood School District Teacher of the Year Competition.
Nomination forms are available in all grade level offices, the Library, the Welcome Center and Room 288. Forms are due by Friday, Dec. 10 to the Welcome Center or Room 288.
Once the candidate accepts the nomination, he or she must submit a resume and fill out a questionnaire on educational issues and trends.
The Teacher of the Year Committee then examines the nominations. The finalists will be announced in January 2011.
For the finalists, the teacher or student who made the nomination will make a five minute speech about the nominee at the February staff meeting.
Current Teachers of the Year from Lafayette are ineligible for nomination. Contact Jeri Heth in the Math Department with any questions.
