Protests are being held at colleges across the United States. There have been protests at Washington University in St. Louis and Columbia University, both colleges seniors from the Class of 2024 will be attending.
College protests across country impact former, current Lafayette students
In the 5.5 square mile area that was being focused on, there was an average population density of 71.5 deer per square mile, with some places having up to 94.5 deer per square mile. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, across the state there is an average of 10-40 deer per square mile. After Wildwoods culling operation, roughly 54 deer were removed per square mile from the 5.5 mile area.

The original graduation date for the Class of 2024 was set to be May 29 at the Chaifetz Arena. However, on Aug. 3, the BOE voted to change Graduation to May 11. When Rockwood posted about the change on Facebook, many parents took to the comments to voice their concerns and support.

As part of the Lafayette community, local youth soccer club Rockwood United SC took part in the annual Homecoming Parade. The club was created by former LHS soccer coaches, Saverio Traversa and Craig Wideman, to provide better quality soccer coaching. We want to make sure that [soccer] is taught right, because when learned correctly its the best sport in the world, Wideman said.

Although being only one of the two oboe players in the school, freshman Elise Morton said she will continue playing the instrument throughout high school. “[Playing the oboe] makes me feel special because I know Im playing a rare instrument and I love having a challenge because there’s something to improve on and get even better,” Morton said.

Despite his limited time in motorsports, junior Julian Tockman has had many near death experiences. Such incidents are common in the sport, but Tockman still enjoys it. It something that makes racing more fun, Tockman said.

After a hit, senior Will Gebhart flips his bat in celebration. This game was against the Parkway West Longhorns, which the Lancers lost 6-5. Gebhart had 2 runs in the defeat.

Junior Conner McCown putts during the Webster Cup Invitational tournament. McCown placed 13th with a round of 77.

At Barnes & Noble, senior Vedika Kumar participated in Blind Date with a Book. During this event, books are wrapped in paper with descriptive words that give a hint about the novel, and individuals are free to choose which one they want to buy.

After finishing their tests in history teacher Steve Klawiters class, students can participate in an optional trivia section. While Klawiter usually doesnt offer rewards for the highest score on the trivia section, it offers a way for students to decompress after unit tests.
History teacher provides de-stressing activities to students
Freshman Emi Limon competes in the 2022 World Kickboxing and Karate Union Championship in Wales. Even though Limon has only been doing karate for three years, he won four medals at the October competition— a gold medals in Weapons with Music and Korean Forms, a silver medal in Hardstyle Forms and a bronze medal in Weapons with no Music.

Pi Day celebrates the mathematical symbol of pi. People like math teacher Kevin OGorman have celebrated by eating pie and pizza on March 14.

The Manternach family spends a day at Gulf Shores, Alabama in 2009. Since Dana’s melanoma diagnosis in 2008, her family has paid more attention to sun care, especially during trips to the beach. “We take constant breaks. We try to reapply [sunscreen] every hour and a half to two hours,” Dana said.
