Wrestling takes third in Winnetonka tournament; beats Northwest for Conference title
January 27, 2017
It’s been a good week for the wrestling team as they secured their third straight Conference title after beating Northwest Cedar Hill on Jan. 25 and just four days earlier, the team took third in a very tough Winnetonka tournament.
After the win over Northwest Cedar Hill, the Lancers improved to 15-1 in season duals and continue to draw more attention every meet. This season has been filled with milestones for the team as a collective whole as well as individual players. Austin Stofer and Cam Wegener are just a few people who have achieved some great milestones. Two weeks ago, both of them reached the 100 win landmark and have continually put up great numbers throughout the season.
The team’s next event will be the Kyle Thrasher Memorial tournament at Francis Howell. The tournament will include a field of 33 teams and take place on Jan. 28. Be sure to check out the tournament as there will be a great deal of talent being showcased.
