Running away with it: Boys cross country take top four results at Lutheran South invitational
September 8, 2016
The boys cross country team leave the Lutheran South invitational with their heads held high after an excellent performance. They only had 21 points (1, 2, 3, 4, 11) good for first place in the competition by a wide margin of 66 points. They also had eight of the top 15 times in the meet.
The top four finishers were Austin Hindman with a time of 16:59.88, Nassim Oufattole with a time of 17:15.61, Harrison Brown with a time of 17:42.72, and Nathan Reed with a time of 17:44.26. The full list of times and scores can be found here.
All this success is in spite of losing some of Missouri’s best runners to graduation. However, the success isn’t out of nowhere.
“We’ve got a lot of young guys coming in that are just really excited to run,” Hindman said. “They’re motivated and working really hard and I think their hard work is starting to pay off.”
The next meet is Forest Park invitational on Saturday Sept. 10 at Forest Park.
