The Lady Lancers finished their regular season with a record of 9-12 and came in ninth in the Suburban West Conference standings.

Lafayette played Rolla in game one of the District tournament at home on Oct. 7 and came out with the 4-1 victory.

Senior pitcher Mackenzie Myers pitched a solid five innings and only allowed one earned run and struck out five batters. The Lady Lancers scored three runs on errors by Rolla but scored their fourth run on a solo home run by Megan Walker.

Walker finished the season with two home runs and 12 runs batted in (RBI), which was tied for second on the team with Hannah Gessner, senior, and Jenny Kohl, senior, who led the team with 18 RBI.

Pitcher Sarah Dobson came in and pitched two innings without allowing a single hit to close out the came for Lafayette. With that win, the Lady Lancers faced their rival Eureka on Oct. 8, but were not able to pick up the win.

Lafayette was only able to collect one hit against Eureka’s pitcher Abby Deane, who struck out 12. Myers pitched four innings in this game allowing three hits and no runs, but had trouble finding the strike zone and ended up walking four batters. The Wildcats were able to pick up two runs against Dobson and scored another run on an error. The Lady Lancers season ended with a 3-0 loss to the Wildcats.

After the win against Rolla and the loss to Eureka, Lafayette ended their 2015 season with a final record of 10-13. With three seniors on the team this year, Lafayette will be ready to start next season with seven new seniors.
