Hindman and Meyrer pave the way to victory
Seniors Alec Haines and Devin Meyrer and Junior Austin Hindman compete in the Forest Park Invitational

The Lafayette boy’s cross country team continued their dominance with another victory at Forest Park on Sept. 12.
Junior Austin Hindman placed second with a time of 15:31 and one second later Senior Devin Meyrer crossed the finish line with a time of 15:32. Alec Haines, senior, finished fifth after being beat out by a tenth of a second by Clayton Adams of Kearney High School.
The team was rounded out by Senior Dylan Quisenberry (16:16) and Junior Tommy Laarman (16:31). Lafayette’s overall score was 48 points and beat out the second place St. Thomas Aquinas High School by 55 points.
“It’s been a three to four year process for these guys,” head coach Sean O’ Connor said. “Over that span, they have been very dedicated themselves to being the best athletes they can be.”
The Lancers will look to continue their winning streak at the Paul Enke Invitational at Souix Passage on Sept. 19.
