Boys track and field seeks to start season off on the right foot
March 26, 2015
The season for the Lafayette Lancer track and field team is going to kick off Saturday, March 28th in Festus. In order to start off the season strong, the Lancers need to outrun some well stacked teams at this upcoming meet. This includes Hazelwood Central and other local schools in the area.
Due to last year’s performance from the Lafayette Track and Field team, it is expected that certain athletes will take the spotlight in this next meet. These athletes include: juniors Brad Alexander, Collin Paul, Dylan Quisenberry and junior Devin Meyer. It’s expected that one of Lafayette top events will be long distance; with many state qualifiers from last year representing Lafayette. The Lancers hope to come out on top in the event.
Senior Alvin Houston said, “We have to really perform and set the standard high for the rest of the season.” Houston also said, “ If we do that i feel like we will have a pretty successful season.”
Lafayette hopes to maintain this attitude going into this meet in order for their hard work at practice to pay off.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
