Water polo aspires for powerful play in the postseason

The water polo team so far this season has played well. They have compiled a record of 12-12, despite losing a majority of their team last year. In total, they lost 13 of their seniors from the previous year.

When asked how the team has performed, junior Bryan Olds said, “For what we were expecting, we’ve done a lot better.”

With a big win against their conference rival Eureka Wildcats, the Lancers have had a few interesting games this year. Olds said, “DeSmet has a pretty good team, we’ve played them three times. We have a game against Marquette on Wednesday, it’s going to be pretty good.”

One of Lafayette’s biggest contributors, junior Raskto Stojsin, currently leads the team in points total with 137.

Their playoff hopes are high and with their record, they should seed fairly well. The regular season will conclude May 6 against Lindbergh, then postseason play will commence shortly after in which the boys hope to carry their dominance into.
