Lafayette boys swimming meets against Parkway South

Boys swimming have had a competitive season so far this year.

Their first meet was against Parkway West where they began their season. In the match, they came just shy of winning the meet. A few weeks ago, they participated in a Tri-meet in which they were successful facing two other teams.

Many of the swimmers have done well this season, but a few in particular have significantly stood out so far this season.

Junior Jack Trube said, “Our top swimmers? That’d be Michael Murphy, John Wilmsen, Mitchell Wells, Alex Wilmsen. They’ve all really helped us out this year.”

On September 30th, they will have a meet here at home against Parkway South.

In the next several weeks, the swimming team will have meets against multiple Suburban West Conference rivals. Those include both the Marquette Mustangs and the Eureka Wildcats.

After the season is officially over, it’s the teams that make the state cut that will proceed into the playoffs.
