Lancers look to take down Eureka Wildcats
As the girls volleyball team makes their way through the season, they have proven their abilities to be tough a competitor in post-season games. With a record of 12-1, the Lancers prepare to face off against Eureka tonight, Sept. 24, on the Wildcat’s home court.
Leading the team offensively, senior Lily Johnson has executed 248 attacks with 130 kills. Senior Jackie Scott is not far behind averaging 30.5 kills per game. On the other hand, junior Tori Roe has stepped up defensively with 150 digs already this season.
Last weekend on Sept. 21, the Lancer crew tied with Glendale in their first match, but then comfortably took both sets in the next three games. The girls may have an advantage over the Wildcats after dominating in their previous three match ups.
For Eureka, they have compiled a record of 5-8 this season, struggling against the powerhouse offenses. The Lancers will look to start on top of their game, not allowing Eureka to get into a rhythm.
Competition begins at 5:15 p.m. away against District rival, the Eureka Wildcats.
