The varsity water polo team took on Marquette, one of the top ranked schools in the state on April 12.
The Lancers made a huge comeback towards the end of the game to push it into overtime.
“We were down by 5 goals with three minutes left and we came back and tied it,” junior Connor McAndrew said.
In the first overtime the game remained tied and it took the teams two overtimes to decide this one. In the end the Lancers came up just a bit short losing by one goal in the second overtime by a final of 12-13.
“It was pretty rough after that comeback to end up losing,” McAndrew said.
This proves that the Lancers can compete with anybody when they are on. They are scheduled to play next April 14 versus DeSmet at Lindbergh.
