On April 14 and 15, the Lafayette boys track team competed in the Henle Holmes Invitational at Parkway Central.
Chris Caldwell and Chris Orange both qualified for the finals in the 110 hurdle race on April 14.
Eliot Montgomery placed third overall in the long jump.
Jimmy DeStefano took third in the shot-put.
Senior sprinter Thomas Swoboda said last Thurday before finals that he expected the team to place somewhere in the top eight. Swoboda’s perdiction was justified by the team’s first place win.
In the final heats, Chris Orange took second in the 110 hurdles and b0th the 4×200 and 4×400 realy teams placed fifth.
Chris Orange said, “I think our team chemistry got better so that pulled us together in the end.”
