4X800 relay with Tyson, Brown, Pauls, Barnard take State Champs

In the 4×800 relay, juniors Grace Tyson, Natalie Barnard and freshman Avery Brown and Lauren Pauls get first place.

Staff

Athletes from both the girls and boys track and field teams attended the MSHSAA State Meet which was held at Adkins Stadium on May 27-May 28.
Boys Track and Field
In the boys 200-meter dash, senior Alex Wildt placed in eighth. In the boys 3200-meter run, junior Lukas Groenewald finished in 12th place. In the boys 4×400-meter relay, Lafayette placed in seventh with the help of seniors Wildt, Malik Hampton, Nikolas Malek and junior Brycen Compton. In the boys 4×800-meter relay, Lafayette placed in eighth with the help of seniors Bross Miller, Sam Aven, Malek and Groenewald.
Girls Track and Field 
In the girls 400-meter run, freshman Avery Brown finished in seventh place. In the girls 1600-meter run, junior Grace Tyson finished in second place and junior Elissa Barnard finished in sixth. In the girls 3200-meter run, junior Grace Tyson finished in second place, junior Elissa Barnard finished in fifth and sophomore Natalie Barnard finished in seventh. In the girls 4×800-meter relay, Lafayette finished in first and for the second year in a row, captured the Missouri Class 5 State title with the help of Barnard, Brown, Tyson and freshman Lauren Pauls.
