Boys wrestling wins Districts; girls swimming and diving wraps up season with 7th place at State

Boys Basketball: After winning their two previous games, the Lancers lost two and won two in their next contests. They lost to Parkway West, 50-35 on Feb. 12, and lost to Pattonville, 84-48 on Feb. 17. The Lancers then beat Mehlville 65-42 on Feb. 19. Junior Jack Clark and senior Drake Hueckel led the team, both scoring 13. Their next game was a 57-44 win against Parkway Central to bring their overall record to 11-12. Hueckel led the team once again with 15 , and sophomore PJ Rogan was not far behind with 14 . The Lancers face Ritenour on Feb. 22 and begin Districts Feb. 27 at LHS.

Boys Wrestling: The Lancers finished first in the MSHSAA District Tournament with 223 points, 67 ahead of the second place finisher, CBC. In all, 13 Lancers qualified for Sectionals, including junior Lane Tenny, who was a District champion, senior Joel Mylin, who beat the defending State champion in the finals, and junior Tommy Hagan was also a District champion.

Girls Basketball: On Feb. 12, the Lady Lancers lost a close one to Parkway West, 38-34. The Lady Lancers did not play Parkway Central on Feb. 15 due to the weather. The Lady Lancers did play against McCluer North and won, 61-39. Their next game is Feb. 23 against Francis Howell Central at 5 p.m.

Girls Swimming and Diving: The Lady Lancers participated in the MSHSAA State Championships and finished 7th overall with 136 points. Freshman Taylor Cloutman finished in 5th place in the 500-meter freestyle, the 200-meter medley relay team of Lindsey Lohr, Dylan Moulton, Morgan O’Connell and Grace Tyson finished in 9th place; Moulton finished 6th and Cloutman finished 7th in the 200 free; Tyson placed 6th in the 100 butterfly; Moulton placed 10th in the 100 freestyle; Cloutman placed 5th and Emma Knoesel placed 14th in the 500-meter freestyle; Cloutman, Ellie Kipper, Moulton and Tyson placed 9th in the 200-meter free relay; Megan Bilsland placed 10th and O’Connell placed 12th in the 100-meter backstroke; Bilsland Cloutman, Kipper and Moultan placed 6th in the freestyle relay

Girls Wrestling: The Lady Lancers participated in the Missouri Sectional 1 Tournament on Feb. 20 at St. Clair High School. First place finishers were senior Josette Partney and junior Faith Cole. Junior Seraphina Blackmon finished in 2nd place and senior Sophia Scheller and sophomore Shayla Wade both finished in 3rd place in their weight classes. All of them will advance state tournament on March 9 in Independence.

Hockey: After defeating Francis Howell the Lancers faced off with two seed CBC in the Challenge Cup playoff semifinals, and lost 4-1. Senior Samuel Rubenstein had the only goal for the Lancers in the game. The Lancers will play game two against CBC on Feb. 27 at the Centene Ice Center at 9:30 p.m.
