Girls lacrosse hopes to move forward in state series
May 20, 2014
On Saturday, May 17, the girls lacrosse team showed that they have what it takes to compete for the State title, after conquering Barat Academy 20-4.
The squad, coached by Carrie Guenzler-Heaney, has made it to the elite eight and is playing Eureka today to move on. The game is at 4:15 p.m. at Parkway Central.
Guenzler-Heaney believes in the team and thinks they can make it to State. However, stacking up trophies isn’t the team’s only priority.
“I think the whole team and I agree that we want to win state and that’s always the goal,” Guenzler-Heaney said, “but of course having fun and knowing that we’re all there for each other and not taking each other for granted, especially as these seniors experience their last moments, is going to last with these kids more than wins and losses.”

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
