Boys basketball defeats Pattonville, keeping winning steak alive
February 19, 2014
Continuing with their impressive winning streak, the boys varsity basketball team took home their 8th win. Defeating Pattonville Tuesday night with a final score of 56-53, the Lancers are ready to take on their next competitor.
Leading the team to success so far this season has been senior Nate Messer and junior Cameron Scales. In last night’s game, Messer put up 19 points and Scales put up 11.
For junior Zach Steinberg, who is a first year varsity player, he can normally be found on defense, but last night he contributed with 10 points, making his way right behind Messer and Scales.
The Lancer defense had a hard time blocking Pattonville’s Eddie Longmeyer as he laid up 29 points, proving that he was a threat to be reckoned with.
On Thursday Feb. 20, the team will take on Kirkwood at home, and Friday Feb. 21st they will fight against Fox.
With only four more season games left, the Lancers are in good running for District play with a compiled record of 19-3. If the team can keep up with this record, they will continue their success as they enter post season games.
