Led by the attacking prowess of senior Alex Moll, the boys volleyball Lancers collected a dominant 2-0 win in their first conference match of the season against the Northwest Lions on Tuesday, April 2.
Moll, playing as a right side attacker, led the team in kills with six, according to stlhighschoolsports.com. Moll also put up three blocks in the match, third highest on the team that night.
Senior middle hitter Jake Steinberg also had a strong showing, collecting five total kills and gaining a team high four blocks against 7-3 Northwest.
The quest for the State title game continues Friday, April 5 against DeSmet.
The match, which will be played at DeSmet at 5:15 p.m., pits LHS against a 7-2 Spartan team that boasts a comparable 1-0 conference record.
The home team’s top attacking performer is junior Ben Gliedt, who has six kills in 12 attempts this season.
After the DeSmet tie, the Lancers face off against Parkway South at home on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:15 p.m.
