After last Friday’s heart-breaking loss to the Eureka Wildcats, the Lady Lancers are hopeful for a big win tonight against Francis Howell to give them their tenth win of the season.
Eureka took control in overtime and clinched the vicotry with a final score of 48-46. Senior Hannah Finley played an extraordinary game scoreing 13 points for the Lancers and not missing a single shot from the field (4-4). The Lady Lancers gave an outstanding effort, but ultimately dropped to 9-8 on the year, also receiving their first Conference loss.
Eureka’s Kelsey Tepen led the way with 20 points. The win improved Eureka to 11-8 overall and 4-1 in the Suburban West Conference.
The Lady Lancers will take on Francis Howell (6-11) Jan. 28 at 7 p.m at home. Howell’s leading scorer is Freshman Carly Harper, who averages 10.2 points per game. To stop the Vikings’ main weapon, Lafayette will have to hold a tight defense.
