After a tough loss against Eureka that broke their four game winning streak, the Lady Lancers took the court against Francis Howell last night ready to avenge their loss. The Lady Lancers came out on top, 51-33, and regained their confidence going into competition against Howell Central tonight.
Leading the team with 235 points overall, senior Hannah Finley maintained her powerhouse status last night, both offensivly and defensively. Trailing close behind her is senior Hannah Schneider who put up 10 points against Francis Howell and is averaging 6.7 rebounds per game on the season.
The Lady Lancers’ focus remained on shutting down leading shooters Carly Harper and Danielle Berry. As the game progressed, the Vikings struggled to execute shots and failed to make plays against the Lafayette defense.
Hoping to continue their success from last night, they will face off against Howell Central tonight away at 6 p.m. With a shaky record of 6-13, the Spartans may have a disadvantage as they enter competition with a 5 game losing streak.
With a total of 202 points this season, freshman Emma Raup will be a player to watch as she leads her team in scoring. The Lancers must maintain a strong defense, while focusing on shutting down the team’s young scorer.
