The Lady Lancer tennis team has proven to be a strong contender in post-season play this year. With a 16-2 overall record, the team has already received first place in both Conference and District tournaments.
As a team, the girls are undefeated in post-season matches. They take on Jackson High School Oct. 13 in the semi-finals of team Sectionals. Although matches fall on Homecoming day, the team is focused and ready for the competition.
Kelly Carpenter said, “We have worked so hard this season, so we will definitely put tennis first and do our best to succeed.”
In individual competition, Haleigh Chobanian and Arianna Demos advanced to Sectionals in singles. Abby Carpenter, Kelly Carpenter, Kayla Neskar, and Sarah Goodman also qualified as doubles teams for Sectionals.
Lafayette competed in the individual Sectionals tournament Monday, Oct. 8.
The Carpenter sisters advanced in doubles, Chobanian and Demos advanced in singles.
“We are ready to compete. Advancing to State is the main and ultimate goal for all of us, and I know we can do it,” Carpenter said.
