The varsity wrestling team placed second overall at the Jeff City Tournament over the weekend, despite continuing to wrestle without senior State qualifier Kyle Black. Park Hill High School, the third ranked team in the state according to MissouriWrestling.com was the only team in front of the boys.
“I think we may have won the whole thing if Kyle [Black] would’ve wrestled with us this weekend,” senior Taylor McKenna said.
Seniors Brandon Hundley, McKenna and sophomore Nick Olejnik all took first place in their respective weight classes.
The team has a match against Marquette on Jan. 19 then they have the Lafayette Tournament on Jan. 22.
