Stars in the news: Bieber, Swift and Cyrus

It’s incredible to think that this little pop singer from Canada has risen so high over the past few years to fall so hard in just a few short months. Justin Bieber has been much loved by his beliebers for years now; they have followed and supported him through thick and thin, but enough is enough. It’s time for Bieber (and his fans) to get a reality check.

Oh, that’s right, he did.

Recently Bieber was arrested for a combination of things, and if he is charged he could be deported. So what’s the Canadian native doing now while awaiting the trial?

He’s on a beach. In Panama. With his new girlfriend.

Are you kidding me?

Instead of being worried about the possible deportation from America, he’s vacationing.

Not cleaning up his act, not apologizing – vacationing.

Well, I say, “Good riddance, sir!”

Only 3 years ago, his hit “Baby” was released. Bieber was a young star, naive and innocent, which is what his fans loved about him. Now, Bieber is a felon. No, worse than that – a careless felon.

The rise to fame takes time but the fall is just a few steps in the wrong direction; and Justin is diving head first off that mountain.

While Justin Bieber has has dug his grave, another star that is on a downward spiral is singer Taylor Swift.

I can hear the die hard fans now…

“Taylorisanamazingsingerandilovehersomuchandsheisanevenbetterpersonandbeautifullike   whatareyoutalkingaboutyoujusthateherbecauseyouarenther!”

Yeah, no. Don’t kid yourself. Swift is not some yellow-brick-road following, innocent Dorothy anymore, she is more like the wicked witch.

I can understand your anger at me though. I loved Taylor and her music – key word, loved – until she started to change.

Swift stole the nation’s heart with her epic love ballads and her sweet demeanor. Not to mention she’s gorgeous. But recently, her attitude and songs have sickened me.

I’m so tired of the oversung songs of heartbreak and love and loss. We get it Taylor, you have dated a lot of guys.

Like, a lot of guys.

And just for the record, Swift is not country anymore. Red has one, maybe two partially country songs. If you think “I Knew You Were Trouble” is a country hit, just stop.

Let’s take a second to also review her new attitude:

a) What artist just sits there glaring at the audience after a performance when they are clapping and cheering for you? No one? Okay, so it’s just Taylor. Be grateful, these are the people who have supported you and made you who you are today. Give them just one smile, seriously.

b) Dancing at the Grammy’s, sure. Maybe a little fist pump or hip swaying, but a hoe down? When you are in the first row? Just sit down, you’re embarrassing yourself! Everyone knows you can’t dance (like, really can’t dance). Don’t deny that you just want attention.

c) I’m criticizing even though it was the highlight of my night. Like, literally replayed it five times. When your album or song is nominated and they are announcing the winner, maybe listen for the entire name of the winner before jumping up and cheering. Sweetheart, Red didn’t win just as it shouldn’t have.

T-Swift, get your act together or your fans will be falling out of the sky, just like Bieber’s. It’s in the early stages so there is time, but the situation is sensitive. Turn it around now, or there may be no going back.

Bieber and Swift are two teen stars who have taken a turn toward the worse, but are there any that have changed for the better?

In my opinion, an opinion that may cause an uproar with previous Hannah Montana fans, Miley Cyrus had taken a turn toward the good.

Hold your horses, I’m not crazy. I don’t agree with most of her outfit choices, drug use or raunchy performances, but at least she’s being true to herself. Cyrus isn’t forcing herself into an image that isn’t her; and although her dramatic appearance change a while ago was shocking, I see why she did it.

Cyrus is trying to break out of that Disney pop star persona. Instead of forcing herself to be something she’s not, like many other stars have done, unhappily I might add, Cyrus has decided to go her own way and say if you’re with me, awesome, if not, I could care less.

Well, it’s certainly worked. I don’t see her as some typical bubble gum Disney pop star anymore. She’s a young adult finding her way in a tough, judgmental industry.

I respect that about her, as should everyone.
