4 Mobile apps to enhance school life

Bryan Woode, Reporter

Life at school can be very busy. Sometimes it can be overwhelming or even unorganized. However, there are four free mobile apps that make school life a bit easier.

First, there’s a well known app called Infinite Campus.

Infinite Campus allows students in over 2,000 school districts to check their attendance, grades, assignments, schedule and custom planner online. With this, students can instantly check their grades  and assignments in all of their classes which allows them to talk to teachers about specific assignments and provides an easy and simple way to check them.

Formerly called Remind 101, Remind is an app that allows teachers to send notifications to students about important and upcoming events. It works one way which means that students can only view the messages but cannot reply to them. This allows students to receive important information instantly which can help to stop the common excuse: “I forgot”.

Another app that enhances student life is Twitter.

Twitter is a social media app that allows people to share pictures and videos and “tweet” about things in their life. Even though this app is not directly school related, it can be used as a practical tool for school. For example, students can follow many of their extra-curricular activities on the app to receive information and socialize. Since many students already use twitter, it’s relatively easy and efficient for students to use it to ease school life.

The Rockwood School District (RSD) app lets students, teachers and parents view important school news and events for all school in the district. It also allows people to access the basic contact information of the school, and allow students to view other contact information for teachers and staff. Some features include news stories, calenders, notifications, and direct access to the Infinite Campus app.

All of the mobile apps are available for free on  Android and iOS markets.
