One of the most exciting things about coming back to school in the fall is the fashion. The September issues of all the top fashion magazines just came out and everyone’s ready to wear their new ensembles to school to show their friends.
One of my favorite trends for fall is the new colors. Neutrals like variations of grey, brown, creme and woodsy greens are going to be popping up in every store this fall.
Just imagine pairing a thin, slouchy grey sweater with some dark wash jeans and short, chestnut colored boots and you’ve pretty much got the idea of fall fashion.
Another color that’s been popping up in many of the Paris Fashion Week shows is gold. Although gold is hard to wear—let alone find—it’s definitely going to be big this fall.
Stella McCartney’s fall line featured clothing ranging from all gold dresses to hints of gold detail on black dresses. Gold showed up in Yves Saint Laurent’s collection in the form of belts, necklaces, and other accessories.
Balmain’s use of gold drew my eye in the most. His show was in an ornate gold room in Paris and his clothes were even more stunning. The gold striped pieces—shirts, pants, and short dresses—shone in the light.
To incorporate some of the new fall trends into everyday school outfits, try finding some vintage accessories such as long pendants to pair with neutral colored tops. Finding a good pair of shoes, such as rustic looking boots or gold loafers, could pull the outfit together for the next football game.
