The Class of 2027 will host the Winter Carnival Jan. 20 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. as a fundraising event. The Winter Carnival made a comeback in 2023 after a three-year break due to COVID-19.
This year is Assistant Principal Matt Borzillo’s first year at Lafayette. He said he is looking forward to attending the carnival.
“The best part is going to be seeing the little kids come and play the games and get their faces painted,” Borzillo said. “That’ll be a lot of fun.”
Borzillo has seen carnivals similar to Lafayette’s at other schools but said he thinks this one is going to be on a different level and larger than other ones he’s seen.
“We need a lot of volunteers so I’ve sent out an email to all freshmen with the link to sign up and then there’s a sophomore, junior and senior link,” Borzillo said.
The carnival, as of Jan. 18, has 69 open morning volunteer shifts and 71 open afternoon volunteer shifts. Students can sign up in StudentSquare to volunteer.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)

Brown won his bout against junior Kobe Rhymes of North Kansas City High School by fall in just 41 seconds. "Carter does what Carter does. We expect [success] out of him and his goals are bigger than the state championship," coach Sam Ritchie said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/IMG_2784-1200x800.jpg)
