Rockwood Art Show features over 200 pieces of LHS student work

On April 22-23 from noon to 3 p.m. the District Art Show will be held at Crestview Middle School.

The show is receiving large recognition and participation from all Rockwood schools. 250 art pieces from Lafayette alone will be displayed and a large part of the pieces from the minimum five artworks AP art students at Lafayette have to enter.

Lafayette’s collection adds to the art from all 31 schools in the district, including all high schools, middle schools, elementary/early childhood schools, and the Center for Creative Learning (CCL) exclusive art program. However, not all the art’s just for showcase.

Art Department Chair Lauren Sakowski said, “In addition to the wonderful artwork displayed, there will be visiting professional artists both demonstrating and selling their work, face-painting and sidewalk chalk, and other art activities for younger students.”
