“Sister Act” auditions approaching
October 28, 2016
Since the fall production of Peter and the Starcatcher has wrapped up, auditions for the Winter Musical are beginning soon.
This year’s musical will be Sister Act. Though many know the title from the movie featuring Whoopi Goldberg, the musical differs from the screen adaptation.
“It’s about a young lady who is trying to become a famous singer. She witnesses a crime so she has to go into a convent undercover,” drama teacher Natasha Fischer said.
Auditions will take place Nov. 7 and 9 after school. Call backs are Nov. 10 from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Nov. 2 from 3:15-4:15 p.m. those planning to tryout will be able to come and learn the dance for the audition.
Those interested in an audition should sign up for a time slot on Mrs. Fischer’s website. Audition times will be posted on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m.
Those interested in crew can also sign up on the website. Crew will meet for the first time on Nov. 15 from 3:15-3:45 p.m.
The play will be presented Feb. 9-11.
“[Students auditioning] will need a one minute monologue, will have to sing the National Anthem and sing a song of their choice,” Fischer said.
