On Saturday, Dec. 5, the boys volleyball team, in conjunction with Rockwood Valley Middle School, will host a ping pong event in memory of Andy Keithley.

On Dec. 2, 2015,  sophomore Andy Keithley was killed in an automobile accident. He was a member of the Lancer boys basketball and volleyball teams.

“We’re doing the event because Andy really liked ping pong,” senior Alex Walker said. “So we decided to have a ping pong tournament so people could come together and play ping pong in Andy’s memory.”

The event will take place at Rockwood Valley starting at 10 a.m. It costs $5 for each ping pong session if registered ahead of time. If space is available, it will cost $10 at the door. Donations will be accepted online and at the event. Checks should be made out to Lafayette High School. To register for a session or to donate, go to this website.

“The team will also be selling T-shirts and bracelets at lunch the weeks before the tournament, and that money will also go to the Keithley family,” Walker said.
