Over the upcoming weeks, the senior class will be participating in a set of activities too celebrate their graduation.

On April 9, seniors who purchased a ticket will be leaving school early to watch a Cardinals baseball game at Busch stadium against the Cincinnati Reds, as they finish their home opening series.

“[The seniors] will go to class 1st, 2nd and 3rd hour, then hop on a charter bus to go to see the game, ” said Tim Jones, Assistant Principal.

The students will leave as soon as the buses arrive during 3rd hour, and will not return to school that day.

On April 16, the school will hold a Senior Award Night after school, starting at 7 p.m. Students will be acknowledged for  Bright Flight and National Merit awards, awards given to them by school staff and for special scholarships that they might have received.

“The students who are getting awards where sent letters to invite them to the show. If you didn’t get a letter though, you are still more than welcome to come,” Jones said. “Any senior who comes will be recognized for anything that they might have, like if the were in NHS or Renaissance, or what college they are are going to.”

Finally, on April 29, the seniors will be leaving school at 8:16 a.m. and go to the St. Louis Zoo for the day. Unlike the Cardinals game trip, the seniors did not have to purchase tickets to go. Any senior who filled out the required forms is allowed to go to the Zoo.

“For the seniors, this trip will be fun, educational and free, so I’m hoping that they’ll go down there and enjoy it,” Jones said.
