Coffee brewed as guests took their seats. Nick Brouk, sophomore, jammed on guitar and people were free to view art and drink coffee. On Wednesday Nov. 5, the annual Coffeehouse took place at 7 p.m in the Commons.

“It was laid back, but not a bad laid back. It was nice, calming and you really got to enjoy people doing their thing. They’re really talented which I didn’t know,” Heather Kellenberger, senior, who attended to support a friend, said.

Artists who displayed their work include Ariel Ferman, junior, a photographer and Sarah Markham, senior, who displayed sculpture and drawings.

“It’s pretty fun being able to share your arts and talents with other people,” Allen Tate, sophomore, said.

Tate performed onstage for the first time at Coffeehouse, and dedicated his performance of All of Me to his girlfriend who helped him select the song.

Traci Bolton, guitar teacher, who is very involved in band classes, marching band and the Tuesday Night Rock Band, Thursday Jam Band and Guitar Ensemble groups was the sound engineer for the night, which the Coffeehouse sponsor Tracy Gladden was grateful for.

“Next year we’ll promote more and make sure it gets on the sign in front of the school, it didn’t this year. Hopefully we’ll have more auditions,” Gladden said.
