Air Force Junior ROTC clothing and book drive ends successfully
November 2, 2014
Every year, the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) participates in a Halloween themed service project.
This year, it was a clothing and book drive. The drive ran throughout October and ended Oct. 29 with satisfying results.
The clothing drive aimed to collect clothes for Saint Louis University’s Xavier Inn Emergency Shelter and the book drive collected new or used children’s books for Cote Brilliante Elementary.
As a result of JROTC’s collaboration with the Varsity Cheerleading team/staff , the St. Louis University’s Emergency Shelter will receive an equivalent of 800 gallons worth of bagged clothes and Cote Brillante will receive 1,062 children’s books. In addition to the book drive, they were able to give school supplies donated from Shop n’ Save to Cote Brilliante.
